How long have each of you been working on this? How much of that has been full-time? Please explain.
I have have been actively involved gay social media for almost 30 years.
• • 2017 was the first time I personally observed a rapid influx of illegitimate users, fraud and other nefarious usages proliferating on gay social media sites. I I understand there has and always will be hackers and scammers, but this was something different. And this aberence continues until the summer of 2020 when I am personally threatened, scammed and very pissed-off. I would estimate, from my personal experience, for some apps especially those that allow unverified users as much as 70% of their traffic (if NOT more) are scams, bots, proud boys, ponzi schemes or worse.
• • Summer 2020 I begin communicating these issues to webmasters, members of the community, essentially anyone who would listen. Web-masters were the worse––mono-focused on a very narrow user type and had no interest in my arguments. Most users (if NOT every single one) openly acknowledging a general yet deep dissatisfaction with their user experience, and posses an overall enthusiasm for "something better" as well.
• • November 7, 2020––after failing to gather the critical attention necessary to find someone more adept than I to address these issues, I personally embrace this call to duty. I was introduced to Y Combinator shortly after by two individuals which shall remain nameless (as they were Facebook defectors). But what stood out most was the extremely encouraging feedback from them, literally. "Hm, I wonder why nobody else has thought of that." And thus I begin to seek out collaborators, upgraded hardware, take an online course with the idea I could learn to write x-code (and with 800 years build time I likely could). But I always when back to those first core YC videos in a constant process of assessment and reassessment. I made several other attempts to find coders, made a few desperate pleas, and took another round at Swift UI. I created a mission statement from the Problem, Solution, Insight model of "How to Evaluate A Startup Idea" ––– https://mistershoobie.blogspot.com/ ––– and the first steps to incorporate as p a r a d o X i c a l, LLC.
• • Spring/Summer 2022––First application to YC but no viable means by which to build my product. I officially incorporate as p a r a d o X i c a l (non-profit) and then much to pleasant surprise a second look at no-code app-builders yields a hit: Siberian CMS.
• • Summer/Fall 2022––Siberian CMS build begins omg so slow, because my learning curve was steep. Judo pops-up literally in a Google search on day and I explore that tool as a "concept builder". Both Siberian and Judo have their own advantages–––with Siberian's modules an actual MVP is within my reach. I could certainly use a partner with just a bit more technical know how, especially in the area of servers. My skill set delivers a consistent drive forward–––budgeting and time management are strong suits as well as 20 years of heavy focus on branding and graphic design. Currently I'm encountering lots of server problems, and I'm stalled on Siberian MVP build until those issues are resolved. The last development was my introduction to news aggregators, and of course this YC w2023 application.
