Ed 306.24, was one of several additional statutes comprising newly revised Minimum Standards for NH Public Schools. The statute itself, simply entitled––Assessments, was about to raise the ire of the old guard on the Hannover/Dresden School Board, and holy hell would ensue becoming one of the most contentious debates in the state of New Hampshire. Put on a state-wide hold soon after its introduction in 2003, the statute when fully implemented, mandated the development and assessment of online student portfolios as an option for some standardized testing. Because we operated independently of the local school districts, my student’s online portfolios were ’significantly’ evolved by the time the public school’s were finally greenlit in 2006.
